Connecting research hospitals with engineers; integrating technologies for non-invasive healthcare options. Award presented to co-founders John Abele and Pete Nicholas by world-renowned cardiologist Dr. Victor Dzau.

Healthcare:

Dana-Farber Cancer Research Institute & Dr. Sidney Farber:

Establishing chemotherapy as an effective cancer treatment, eventually turning a 15% survival rate to an 85% rate for the common form of childhood leukemia. Award presented to Dr. Ed Benz by former Dr. Farber patient, Al Blood.

Unsung Innovator:

Lewis Latimer:

Chelsea-born son of slaves; For inventing electric lamp with carbon filament for Edison & key drawing for Bell's telephone patent. Award accepted by his granddaughter, Dr. Winifred Latimer Norman.

Biotech, 1984-2006:
